What is PTSD?

Post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD, is a mental condition triggered by a traumatic event. Symptoms include, severe anxiety, nightmares, recurrent thoughts and memories about a traumatic event, avoidance, and hypervigilance (or constantly being on edge or alert). Your healthcare team will help create a treatment plan that will help you manage those symptoms.
