While every employee at VA Long Beach advocates for Veterans, there are those who's specific job is patient advocacy. Patient advocates are professionals who bridge the gap between the health care system and Veterans. At least half of Patient Advocates are Veterans themselves, giving them a unique perspective and making them powerful allies. In this short video, we see how an employee, a Service Level Advocate (SLA), and a Patient Advocate work together to help a Veteran resolve an issue.
